Investigation And Analysis Of Rural Senior High School Chinese Extra-curricular Reading

Extra-curricular reading is a vital component in Chinese language education, and it is also extension and development of curricular reading. Extra-curricular reading is one of important means for improving Chinese language level, and it is able to exploit intellectual potential, make healthy and abundant feelings, and enrich aesthetic taste, promote aesthetic ability as well. It also can help shape healthy personalities and improve "Growing up of Spirit".Nowadays, people have a more and more abundant material life, while have a more and more empty spiritual life. The whole people are running into reading crisis, and undoubtedly, reading has become a social problem, era problem and especially a big problem for teenager students. For those rural senior high school students who take "passing the National College Entrance Exam" as their final aim, the reading problem is more outstanding.As a Chinese education practioner of Jingshan county, I called on over 600 students and some teachers in five senior high schools in Jingshan county, visited some boss and owners of bookstores, shops for book renting, as well as web pubs, and made an investigation through questionnaires regarding extra-curricular reading, analyzing current situations and problems of extra-curricular reading in rural senior high school, summarizing the causes to these problems, and submitting certain constructive advices from three aspects---updating thought of rural extra-curricular reading, optimizing environment of extra-curricular reading and improving instructions methods of teachers in extra-curricular reading.Hopefully, this article can provide help and instructions for developing and promoting rural senior high school extra-curricular reading.
