Design And Realization Of 3G Network Basestation Service Ability Tester

The age of 3G mobile communications has arrived, but the 3G network services provided by the three major telecom operators are still not perfect and steady. Operators urgently need a kind of 3G network performance testing equipment. On the market almost all of the base station testers target at the physical characteristics. In this paper, a service testing oriented 3G network tester is designed and aimed at testing the carrying capacity and service ability of the base station by simulating concurrent communication events.Firstly, the overall framework design of 3G network base station tester was introduced. The architecture of the system which included the server and 3G module controlled by the embedded linux system was ensured by comparing the key program.Then the testing interface on the PC was designed based on JAVA, and the database system was also developed. The JAVA application was transformed into JAVA applet to public in the LAN. Secondly, the multi-thread socket communication between the upper PC and lower PC was developed to solve the problem of controlling multiple modules synchronously. Wireless module is controlled by the lower PC through AT commands. So the operation flow of the tester was developed based on the AT commands. Thirdly, the two wireless communication module’s driver of sim5210 supporting WCDMA and the TD-SCDMA 3G mobile e-line were completed. Finally, all of parts of the system were connected to be tested, and the joint debugging of the system was realized.Test results showed that the designed tester could supply the communication success rate of the wireless module and meet the requirement of network service test in carrying capacity, and the results could be analysed accurately.
