In recent years, due to the rising incidence and number of chronic diseases,people are increasingly concerned about their health problems. The concept of health has also shifted from the emphasis on the treatment of disease to the prevention of the disease, in order to pursue a healthier lifestyle. Applications of intelligent technologies in medical field and rapid development of the internet provides possibilities for chronic diseases monitoring and management, especially with the popularization of physiological index acquisition equipment.In this paper, The S3C2440A with ARM920T architecture is used as the core processor, and the embedded Linux hardware and software development platform is built. The multi-thread implementation of socket based on TCP/IP protocol is used to realize the network communication. The data storage is carried out by using the Mysql database. A health monitoring system is designed and implemented, which includes the collection of health parameters, physical examination management, risk prediction, expert advice, information management and other functions. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:First of all, based on the design requirements of the system, the overall scheme of the system is given, which includes three parts: data collection, data encapsulation and transmission in the communication gateway, system application and background management. Among them, the data collection part is composed of physiological indexes collection and user identity collection. The data are collected by the professional equipment, and then transmitted to the communication gateway through the serial port or USB interface. Data are uploaded through communication gateway after conversion and encapsulation. Users on the computer with the health monitoring system and management can check the results of measurement, risk prediction, private information, etc. Data are stored by the server database, and administrators can check the user data and system maintenance by the WEB remote login management system.Secondly, hardware is designed in detail according to the overall scheme and the hardware structure of the system, including peripheral circuits such as audio,power amplifier, network, power supply, serial port, etc. The audio module and the power amplifier module are connected with the loudspeaker by using UDA1341TS sound card chip and SGM4871 audio amplifier chip, for voice prompts playing. The network module realizes the network connection by using DM9000CE Ethernet chip and RJ45 port which includes network transformer HR911105A. The power module can ensure the stability of the circuit operating voltage by using LM1117 regulator chip and DC / DC isolation. MAX3232 is used to convert the level, and data transmission is conducted through the 9-pin serial port and USB port.Finally, based on the hardware platform, the embedded Linux software development environment is built and transplanted. With the use of programming language C for multi-threaded and socket programming, it realizes system initialization, data transmission and reception, encapsulation and transmission, voice prompts playing, detection of network connectivity and other functions of the gateway. Meanwhile, by using programming language JAVA, the monitoring and communication system, design of the system database are realized. The operating effect of the system is also tested.As can be seen from the testing, the system has realized the collection, detection and inquiry of physiological indexes, and the incidence of chronic diseases can be appraised by the historical records and analysis of measurement. The system provides appropriate expert advices, the knowledge of prevention and control, and private digital records for storage. It has realized the basic function of the health monitoring system and has achieved the expected effect. With the use of modular design, it is easy to upgrade, maintain and customize, and it can be applied to the medical center, community hospitals, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes and other institutions.
