Traditional wired networks, network flexibility is extremely restricted, with the development of the mobile communication network, cellular network and WLAN appear. But neither of these networks requires a lot of infrastructure as a foundation. In cases of emergency need instant communication, for example, in the case of major natural disasters require immediate communication, these two networking are not applicable. With the emergence of the Ad Hoc solve the above problems. Ad Hoc has the features of the dynamic self-organizing, multi-hop routing, no center. These features are able to quickly network and instant communication in the special circumstances of the disaster area, battlefieldNodes in Ad Hoc have the features of routing functionality and dynamic self-organization. It is high demands for Ad Hoc routing protocols. In the study of the Ad Hoc routing protocols, the theoretical simulation is a very important way. Most of the routing protocol simulation based on random waypoint mobility model. But in reality, there are many mobile nodes to move in accordance with the other mobile models. Therefore, simulated the routing protocol in the different mobility model is a more meaningful research. This paper studies performance simulation of the Ad Hoc routing protocol in different mobility model. Firstly, introduced the classification of the Ad Hoc routing protocols, as well as in theory, make a detailed analysis and comparison, and the Ad Hoc routing protocol simulation to achieve. Secondly,by detailed theoretical analysis of the current widespread use of random waypoint mobility model, point out the deficiencies of the mobility model. In accordance with the actual needs put the reference point group mobility model, the manhattan grid mobility model, the gauss-markov mobility model. By NS-2network simulation tools and BonnMotion tools build the open source platform simulate Ad Hoc routing protocol in different mobility model. Use the platform to compare the average end-to-end delay, packet delivery ratio, routing overhead. The three performance indicators demonstrate the necessity of routing protocol simulation in different mobility model and routing protocols that can be used in different application environments.
