With the rapid development of digital TV technology in recent years, the relevant industryhas also been concerned. At present digital TV receiving equipments mainly consists of TV cards,TV boxes and TV sticks, it becomes possible for us to watch digital TV programs on thecomputer. Many domestic manufacturers are committed to the product development, however,because of the high price, small signal coverage and other factors, the market doesn’t have agood promotion. Comfortingly, the digital TV technology has been trying to develop in this10years in our country, especially the digital video broadcasting based on cable has become a pillarindustry. Therefore, the application of the digital TV by cable must have a broad prospect.The DVB-C system that we put forward is a simple equipment for personal use to playdigital programs on PC with USB interface. The DVB-C digital TV receiving system, whichreceives the cable network signal and translates it into transport stream according with mpeg2standard, then transmits to PC for audio/video decoding treatment by USB interface, and finallyachieves the real-time broadcasting of the digital TV programs.The main research contents and results are in this thesis as follows:1. The USB2.0bus specification is analyzed, the basic principle of data transmission isgeneralized, and how to transmit the DVB-C data to the compute for real-time processing andplaying is studied. The design of DVB-C digital TV receiving system based on USB2.0interfaceis then introduced.2. We mainly select tuner chip TUA6039, QAM demodulator chip STV0297and USBcontroller chip CY7C68013A to construct the hardware system, and draw the complete circuitprinciple diagram according to the function of each module.3. We mainly do analysis on USB chip CY7C68013A and design the firmware to achievethe Slave FIFO initialization and user-defined request.4. We also come up with the design solutions of USB drivers and PC software.It is a low-cost system and easy to design and it also can be expanded to other TV receivingsystem with complex functions.
