With the development of automotive electronic technology and the more andmore automobile functional demand (security, power, comfort, etc.) of people, theECU number and type of vehicle are also increasing; the use of automotive bus cangreatly reduce the usage of harness and sensors shorten the development cycle, cutdown the development costs and so on. FlexRay is a newly developed automotivebus, it combine Time trigger and Event trigger, Making it has reliable, flexible,transmission rate higher advantages, In the future, it will play a huge role inautomotive electric control unit. But FlexRay only stipulate the physical layer andthe data link layer protocol, and not Network Management for automotive electriccontrol unit. As FlexRay bus in automotive electronic control field of more andmore applied, Applicable to the FlexRay bus network management strategyresearch also becomes more and more necessary.As the automotive Network Management is concerned, OSEK/VDX NM isgeneric, recognized network management standard. So the car manufacturers inmaking the network management standards should try to follow this standard.OSEK NM use the logic ring mechanism, Through the flexible networkconfiguration update methods, Enhance the network system reliability, stability,safety and maintainability and network expansibility.This paper analyzed the FlexRay bus’s feature and OSEK direct NetworkManagement mechanism, present that FlexRay is realized in the dynamic segmentfor OSEK Network Management. And Network Management Protocol Data Unit isdefined. Delay time in dynamic segment is researched and found the answer.
