With the development of processor technology, embedded operating systemtechnology and sensor detection technology, more and more embedded systems are appliedin varieties of indoor environment monitoring systems. The accuracy, efficiency andintelligence of environment monitoring system are continuously improved, which solvesthe problem of resource-wasting of the artificial monitoring method and low performanceof sensor in the past monitoring system. At the same time, people’s self-protectionawareness is increased, they demand more comfortable, healthier and safer indoorenvironment. Therefore, the research of an accurate, efficient and intelligent indoorenvironment monitoring system has great significance in achieving the real-timeenvironment monitoring, ensuring the comfort, health and safety of the environment andprotecting the health of the people.An indoor environment monitoring system is designed and implemented based on theARM11processor, embedded Linux operating system and digital sensor, which achievethe real-time acquisition and transmission of temperature, humidity, light and dust particlesin indoor environment.Firstly, this paper introduces the temperature&humidity sensor, light sensor, dustparticles sensor and ARM11development board. In this part, the electrical characteristicsand the communication protocols of the sensor and major resources and pin description ofARM development board are mainly researched. Then a customized embedded Linuxsystem specific to this paper is designed and implemented, which include thecustomization and transplantation of U-boot, Linux kernel and file system. In this paper, aDM9000network card device driver, I2C device driver, the support to NFS file system andkernel modules dynamically loaded functions are added to the embedded Linux system.And the unnecessary modules are cut out to achieve the minimization of the embeddedLinux system. Finally, the device driver and user program are designed integrated with thesensor communication protocol, the kernel module technique, the timer mechanism and the socket network communication mechanism, which can be used to achieve the monitoringand transmission of temperature, humidity, light and dust particles.In this paper, a high performance ARM11processor, embedded Linux operatingsystem and digital sensors are adopted to ensure the accuracy, efficient and intelligent ofthe system. The system can be widely used in the monitoring of the environmental data ofhospitals, factories and other places with good prospects for development.
