With the rapid development of Information Technology and the wide application of Internet Technology, distance education has begun to rise, and gradually become an important mode of teaching. The government has given a lot of concern about virtual laboratory, and already set up lots of projects about virtual laboratory in collages. During the research, it is found that the intelligent control of the virtual laboratory faces a great challenge when users want to do the virtual experiment more freely.Intelligent control technology is one of the critical technologies in virtual laboratory. In the first place, it keeps the virtual experiment result is reliable. During the development of the intelligent control technology, virtual laboratory is not only just becoming vivid, but also exceeds the real laboratory in some place. First, it can describe the phenomenon which cannot be seen in the real experiment. Second, the velocity of the experiment can be controlled. But these technologies are not mature in virtual laboratory area, still have room to promote.This thesis proposed using multi-agent technology to solve the intelligent control problems of virtual laboratory, after learning intelligent control technologies such as expert control system, fuzzy control system and learning control system, studying multi-agent technology and analyzing the intelligent control problems in the virtual laboratory. The main goal of the virtual experiment is divided into several submissions, which are controlled by different agents in the MAS.In this thesis, the robot fire fighting virtual laboratory is used as an example to proof the feasibility of the MAS in the virtual laboratory. The experiment has been divided into searching the fire, avoiding obstacles, selecting the fire fighting strategy and killing the fire, which are controlled by different agents in the MAS.The next step will be adding the study the mechanism into MAS, so that the whole control system can continue to self-optimizing.
