Microstrip antennas is the most typical,frequently used in moderntimes.Microstrip antenna has many good characteristics of thin section plane,smallvolume, easily manufacturing and matching with other shapes easily,easily gettingground polarize,bi frequency-band, and bi-frequency band,and bi-polarizes. So theyare used in many fields such as radar, missile observing and controlling, electroniccounter measure,weapon detonator, remote sensing telemeter measurement, satellitecommunication, mobile communication, medical microwave,etc.But the bandwith ofmicrostrip antenna is very narrow. Its ordinary impedance bandwith only0.6%~3%, cannot meet the requirements of modern wireless radio system. At the same time, the sizeof the antenna is also the main determinants for wireless communication.This dissertation mainly focuses on the researching and summarizing ofmicro-strip antenna widening bandwidth and miniaturization technology. Paper isdivided into five parts. In the first place, the researching progress is concluded and theworking mechanism of micro-strip antenna is briefly introduced. The performanceparameters of the micro-strip antenna is analyzed and discussed. With the AnsoftHfss,two kinds of broadband microstrip antenna has been designed. Experimental resultsshow the correctness of design, and ensure the stability of the other performance of theantenna.Secondly, This thesis introuduces the meanings of widening bandwidth andminiaturization technology, and sets modern analysis methods of widening bandwidthand miniaturization.Thirdly, with the ANSOFT HFSS software, a rectangular patch and a round patchmicro-strip antennas is presented, and the real processing and measurement is achieved.
