This thesis studied the energy optimization network information platform of the steelmaking-steel refining-steel casting process according to the present situation of iron and steel enterprises with the advanced computer technology, internet communication technology and database technology. Its background is the National863project "the steelmaking-continuous casting Energy optimization system based on the optimum temperature". Data flowing inside the information platform included logistic information and manufacture information to help to accomplish the automation system of steelmaking unit consumption.The main works of the thesis are as follows:(1) Analyzed and compared the common database and system structures, and made the best database structure and internet structure scheme applicable for the information platform according to the actual requirement of steelmaking process in SanGang MinGuang steel Co., Ltd in Fujian province (San Steel for short in the following paper).(2) Built the static tables, the production performance tables, and the production state tables required by the information platform. Built the static tables according to production standard; built a database entity-relation diagram for the production stages such as manufacture planning, converting, refining, continuous casting according to the production process and generated the production performance tables and the production state tables.(3) Studied data transportation ways such as data interfaces, data transmission tables and OPC. Exchanged data with data interface technology are the sub-systems of the temperature optimization and the energy optimization; exchanged data with JDBC data interface technology is the production planning scheduling sbusystem; data between MES and the information platform database or inside the internal database of information platform adopted data transportation tables; data communicated between the information platform and PLC used OPC agreement to realize the data synchronization in the information platform.(4) Studied and analyzed lossless data compression algorithms such as PPM, BWT, LWZ and RLE. The Improved LWZ algorithm was adpted for data compression; RLE algorithm was adopted for the time label and quality code compression. The characteristic and the applied condition of different index, triggerand views were discussed, and the information platform was optimized by comparing the different results from index, trigger and views with the actual data.(5) Data exchanged between the information platformand the external system and inside the information platform by running the information platform in the steelmaking plant of San Steel, obtained the production plan of the company, production performance and production state information, uploaded the production scheduling information, temperature optimization information and energy consumption analysis information; built a strategy of access security and data security for protecting data; finally built a information platform backup strategy for the database back-up.
