A Design Of EoC Terminal Equipment With The VoIP Function

With the State Council approved the policy on the triple-play，the waveof NGB evolution to the networks on radio and television has beenunstoppable，and construction of the access network has become the key anddifficult of the current NGB building. At present in the major three kind oftechnological transformation scheme：CMTS，EPON+LAN，EPON+EoC，EPON+EoC has better adaptability and flexibility，and more suitable as atriple play solution.EPON+EoC can construct the digital broadband access network on thebasis of the existing HFC network for the network system for radio andtelevision，transformed the original one-way CATV network into a two-waynetwork with less cost of renovation and engineering quantity，and can carry avariety of business in the two-way broadband network platform.The EoC coaxial cable access technology is one of the most criticaltechnologies in the bidirectional transformation process，which is based on coaxial cable to carry Ethernet services and other integrated services for thenext-generation broadcast networks (NGB) of broadband users access.ECAN (Ethernet Over Coax Access Network) technology that this articledescribed is one of the many EoC technology，which creatively transplantedthe IEEE802.3ah EPON MAC protocol to the passive coaxial cabledistribution users network，to achieve point-to-multipoint Ethernet-to-homebroadband access. Compared to other EoC technology，it can realize thetelecommunication level operation and maintenance and meet the nextgeneration of broadcast networks (NGB) requirements，so as to realize voice，data and vide of triple play.Therefore，this design can be good to join the VoIP function to EoCproduct because of ECAN technology has a good ability to support voiceservice，so that is the true meaning of the realization of telecommunicationsnetwork，computer network and cable television three networks integration.The first chapter of this paper give a brief account of the triple play，mainly includes our current status and development prospects in the triple play，and explains the purpose of this study and innovation；chapter2analysisand comparison three kinds of solutions in the triple play of the present；chapter3analyzes the various EoC technology exists today，compare of theiradvantages and disadvantages，and details of ECAN program；chapter4discusses the key technologies in VoIP，including signaling protocols、compression etc； chapter5describes how to design and implementation theEoC terminal products with VoIP function， and testing correspondingfunctional of the terminal products that this paper design；chapter6of the textare summarized and outlook.
