As special power generation mode, the pumped storage stations have been constructed widely in the electric utility with the development of ecomomics for regulating load and promoting safety level of power grid. However, the imcomplete mechanism of electricity prevent the improvement of pumped storage power station and the sustainable development of grid companies. Therefore, study on the improved business management and optional purchasing decision of grid companies with the grid-connected of pumped storage power station is of great importance to the development of electricity market.This paper summarizes the features of pumped storage power station based on the analysis about operation practice of pumped storage power station with rental model and pricing model, describes the influence of pumped storage power station with rental model and pricing model on purchasing decision of electricity company, builds a researchful model about the benefits of power grid companier when power station with different modes are connected to the grid, and then, it establishes a optional purchasing model for grid companies based on the grid-connected of pumped storage power station with different business model according to the analysis of the principles on purchasing decision-making of grid companies and the features of pumped storage power station with different business model, finally, it studies the influence of some pumped storage station on some power grid comprehensively and the validation of optional purchasing model, all of which will be of great significance to the decision-making of business model and purchasing of the grid company.
