As power market reformation carries on, power grid is in difficult status at the aspects of modulating peak effectively, operating safely and stably and supplying power reliably. Pumped storage power station has an important effect on safe, stable and economical operation of power grid. Research on benefit's comprehensive evaluation and operation mode of pumped storage power station is the avant-courier and difficulty in the domain of technology economy and management, which has important theory research value and practical significance.Analyzing the current condition of domestic and foreign power market and the benefit and operation mode of pumped storage power station, the function of pumped storage power station in power market is demonstrated. Taking the market element into account, the computation methods of coal-saving benefit, frequency modulation benefit, phase modulation benefit, emergency auxiliary benefit and black-start benefit are established. In order to evaluate the benefit of pumped storage power station accurately and scientifically, which can offers reference for its construction and development, the benefit indexes are divided into economic benefit indexes, power grid benefit indexes, social benefit indexes and environmental benefit indexes, thus, the comprehensive evaluation index system is established. The benefit's comprehensive evaluation model based on rough set and support vector machine is put forward. Through the benefit's comprehensive evaluation for Z pumped storage power station, it is demonstrated that power generation enterprise, power grid, power consumer, even the whole society will benefit from pumped storage power station. Benefit's realization way of pumped storage power station in power market is discussed, and two new operation modes and compensation mechanism for dynamic assistant service are put forward.The main innovation of the thesis is listed as follows:1. According to the condition that the benefit is only evaluated at the aspect of pumped storage power station itself, not the whole society, a comprehensive evaluation index system is established.2. Integrated the merits of rough set and support vector machine, the benefit's comprehensive evaluation model of pumped storage power station based on rough set and support vector machine is put forward, which has good Anti-noise and generalization performance. The model is demonstrated in the thesis.3. Two operation modes of pumped storage power station in power market are put forward,which can bring its benefit into play. The first is that power grid and power generation enterprise with large units lease pumped storage power station together. The second is that pumped storage power station associates with power generation enterprise with large units based on the peak load options.4. In order to compensate the dynamic assistant service of pumped storage power station in power market, three-part electricity price is put forward.
