| The rapid development of modern science and technology drives the developmentand progress of human society. Competition between countries has risen totechnological competition, knowledge competition, and competitive intelligence level.Innovation has become a decisive factor to improve comprehensive national strength.As China’s strategic goal of building an innovative country. Building an innovative cityhas gradually become many cities, especially the central cities, an importantdevelopment direction. At present, many cities have proposed the idea and concept ofbuilding innovative cities, the specific measures and schedule, and begin to do them.Innovative city, as a relatively new mode of urban development, is a very complexsystem construction project, which requires the city’s industry, research resources,human resources, education resources, government policy to build. The industry power,strong or not, is directly related to the city’s creative ability. The manufacturing sectoras a knowledge-intensive, capital-intensive, technology-intensive industry is thebackbone of urban industrial take-off, but also the important support to build innovativeindustry. Innovative city is inseparable from the development of the manufacturingsector, while the manufacturing industry also needs a good environment from theinnovative city.Chongqing has proposed building an innovative city. And Chongqing is theimportant old industrial base of China, in which manufacturing sector is moredeveloped. The research on how to develop Chongqing’s manufacturing sector underbuilding innovative city has big significance. This thesis is based on the purpose anddirection for research. This article summarizes and analyzes the domestic and foreigncities on innovative cities and manufacturing theory, and analyzes the relationshipbetween the development of the manufacturing industry and building innovative city.Then using the literature analysis, qualitative analysis, case studies, comparativeanalysis and other methods, to find the problems according the status of manufacturingsector in Chongqing. And it proposes the development ideas and strategies ofChongqing’s manufacturing under building innovative city. Finally, the paper concludes,points out inadequacies of the study and make recommendations for further research. |
