Operation Management Post-acquisition: A Case Study On Acquisition And Restructuring Of A Farm Firm

As China is moving towards an more market-oriented economy andfurther deepening its economic reform, acquisition, as an important way toenhance the operating efficiency of enterprises and reallocate resourcesoptimally through capital market, is now increasingly seen in China.According to empirical study, however, the success rate of acquisition isvery low. A successful acquisition must be a combining result of manycontributing factors, such as strategy planning, market management,cross-enterprise culture management, and finance planning as well asOperation management post the acquisition. In this paper, the authordiscusses the principals of modern operation management anddemonstrates its planning frame and application in a modern enterprisethrough a case study on an acquisition of a farm firm located in Hunanprovince.
