Study On Industrial Transfer In Chongqing

Since the reform and opening-up of China, our eastern coast areas are developing quickly in economics. but the enterprises in the eastern area which were constrained by the limited resources and market factors are now facing the wave of a new round of international industrial transfer along with the rapid economic development. The eastern region is transferring their labor-intensive industries to the central-west region, to achieve industrial structural upgrading. Chongqing, as the only municipality in the western region, is at the vantage point in strategic location, land, labors, minerals and other resources. It has a fine economic base and a huge potential market. Chongqing is therefore going to be an important place to undertake the eastern industrial transfer. Hence, doing a research on this industrial transfer is important and meaningful.Although there has been already a lot of Chinese scholars conducted extensive researches on the domestic industrial transfers, but most of them were focused on qualitative description but not enough of quantitative analysis. In addition, most of these researchers used comparatively developed regions to be their model, and they barely talk about the less developed regions. Therefore, my essay used Chongqing, which is a fast developing city of China, as the model, combined both quantitative and qualitative analysis, presented both positive analysis and normative analysis, comparative analysis and other methods altogether. The author was focused on the importance of China’s industrial transfer from east to west, the conditions and problems of Chongqing to undertake the transfer, and the analysis of the specific mode of the transfer. Then put forward some countermeasures and suggestions about how to optimize the investment environment, industrial development, and business growth to those developing cities as Chongqing.The main contribution of this paper is mainly the following four-point. The first point concerns the awareness of the phenomenon of the spatial attributes of the industrial transfer. Secondly, created a theoretical model of the developing region undertake the industrial transfer to achieve economic developing. The third contribution is the method of this kind of researches has been improved, which avoided the defects of traditional researches that always over-focused on theoretical analysis and the lack of positive analysis. The last point is made a detailed study on the model of industrial transfer of Chongqing, and designed three different models for this case.
