In recent years, the Chinese government made a lot of investment in the construction of rural information; however, it did not take many real incomes to the farmers. On the basis of many in-depth interviews in rural areas, the author finds that farmers’information literacy is the main reason for the performance of rural information is not obvious, thus further wide the Digital Divide between urban and rural areas in China. According to this issue, the author tries to start with the evaluation of farmers’ information literacy in this paper, and searches for the effective method to improve the information literacy of farmers.From this point of view, this paper designs the farmers’information literacy questionnaire which accords with the current situation of China. Then, by the use of principal component analysis, deals with the data from the investigation in rural areas, and establishes an evaluation index system to measure the farmers’information literacy. Based on this, by means of empirical research and analysis, finds that farmers" information literacy are different in 7 aspects, and influenced by many factors, such as gender, age, education level, farmers types and whether contact with network. At the same time, this paper also verifies the positive correlativity between farmers’ information literacy and their life satisfaction, which is, the higher farmers’ information literacy, the higher their life satisfaction. At the end, according to the investigation results and the empirical analysis conclusion, this paper put forward several suggestions for promoting farmers’information literacy and the development of rural information in China.
