Research On Industry Association Of China Railway Based On Input-output Model

As an important part of comprehensive transportation system, railway transportation plays an important role in people’ s traveling and improving the comprehensive transportation system. With the character of service, it is the basic industry of the national economy, providing raw materials, fuel and other intermediate products transportation and loading and unloading services. The railway transport industry has a significant effect in Promoting and simulating the economic sectors in the industrial chain. Therefore, the development of the railway transport industry has a great bearing on the nation’s sustained economic development and social stability.Despite the economic importance of railway transportation to the nation, relatively few studies have examined the contribution to national economy. Moreover, these studies are conducted based on qualitative analysis and few of them are done quantitatively. In addition, in order to reduce the adverse effect of the economic crisis in2008, we have invested a large mount of money in infrastructure, especially in railway transport industry to expand domestic demand and keep social stability. Based on the economic background and related theories, this article is to study the relation between the railway transportation and the national economic to illustrate the actual role of the railway transport.Based on the input-output survey summary information about the national railway transportation of2007, this article has done an empirical study of the relation between railway transportation industry and the others by using basic theory and method of input-output analysis; And then it analysis the economic contribution of railway transportation from the social、economic and other aspects, estimating the contribution for national economy added value、employment of social labor and industry association、industry ripple effect; Considering the results above, the article established regression model between railway passenger and freight traffic and the development of national economy to study the effect on the national economy. In addition, the article not only compared the difference of railway transport between2002and2007input-output survey, but also compared the railway transportation and other transportation industries on the source of passenger and cargo transport、transport capacity and other aspects from2001to2010. Through these researches, we can summary the construction of the transport industry, and conclude the development trends of our railway sector.From the measures and calculation results, we can see the railway of China plays a very important role both in promoting national economic growth and alleviating the pressure of employment, especially its former promoting effects reflecting the pillar status in national industries. Therefore, in order to keep the economic stability, we should continue to strengthen the infrastructure status of railway transport industry, and accelerate its transition pace to modern service industry.
