In this paper, I used the total productive maintenance theory and the predictionsmaintenance theory to improve equipment system, and I also used two equipmentmanagement tools, which are the equipment management information systems and theequipment fault monitoring and diagnosis system. This thesis will try to combineadvanced management theory with advanced management tools, so that the factory’sexisting equipment management ways will be improved. As we all know, the TPM canimprove the efficiency of the equipment, reduce the cycle costs and extend the servicelife. However, in the field of predictive maintenance, because of the immaturetechnology and high costs of the equipment monitoring and diagnosis, it is not promotedand used in a wide range. As the technology advancement and the high price ofequipment, predictive maintenance will be widely used as a new development directionof the equipment management. Equipment information system not only can centrallymanage the equipment-related information, but also can quickly transmit informationduring different departments and different plants of the same company. Thus it solvesmany problems in information communication.This thesis based on the equipment management status of the factory and therelevant data of the equipment management in the past five years. I analyzed these databy statistics and found out the existing problems and reasons. And then the reasons forthese problems were refined to the influence factors. I classified these factors andproposed the solutions for these factors. There are the following problems which exist inthe factory’s equipment management: first, the problem about the equipment unplanneddowntime; second, the problem about the low operating rate of the equipment; third, theproblem about the high costs of the equipment maintenance; fourth, the problem aboutthe spare parts taking up more funds. The main reasons which cause all problems arethat it spends long time to receive the spare parts and to diagnose the fault; there are toomany times equipment fault; it is lack of short-term maintenance program; it is higherthe cost of overhaul and maintenance cost of some equipment and so on. Further,through analysis to find out the influence factors, I broadly divided these factors intothree categories: the human factors; the factors of the equipment management tools andthe factors of the equipment management system. I proposed following solutions tothese factors: first, strengthen management training; second, the application of theequipment management tools, such as the equipment management information systems and equipment monitoring and diagnostic systems; third, the implementationmanagement system of the total productive maintenance management combined with thepredictive management.Through the application of these management methods and tools, the company willbe a great improvement in the equipment management and achieve significant benefits,which include that the production efficiency of the equipment will substantially increaseand the equipment maintenance costs will substantially decrease and employees’personal qualities will be raised.
