As early as the mid-16th century, a number of private bankers appeared inGeneva, Switzerland, who provided highly secretive financial services specifically forthe European nobility. After several centuries of development of this private bankingand financial service model, it has gradually become an important way to provide awide range of high net worth products and services for clients. The global financialturmoil in2007made the features and advantages of private banking businessoutstanding, which helped many entrepreneurs avoid the financial risks and reducedthe losses caused by the crisis. Since then, domestic and foreign financial institutionshave begun to launch the private banking businesses, which made the private bankingbusiness gain due attention and development.In2008China Construction Bank officially launched private banking. Beingdomestic bank, Construction Bank has its own advantages in developing privatebanking business. For example, it has a large customer resources and a wide range ofconvenient services network, financial products and service system have begun totake shape, the team quality and professional level of client managers have beengreatly improved, etc. But in the face of fierce competition of numerous domestic andforeign financial institutions, the Construction Bank of China still has somedisadvantages in the development of private banking business. For example, the lackof the successful experiences of overseas asset allocation, single product innovationcapacity, accounting system needs to be improved, high level talent team to beexpanded and so on.This paper starts from the development process of private bank, analyses thepresent situation of private banking business development in Construction Bank LNBranch based on the discussion of private business development in the domestic andforeign private banks, points out the private banking business problems that the LN Branch is facing, and illustrates the countermeasures in solving private bankingbusiness development based on this. The whole paper consists of four chapters.The first part is the introduction, mainly introduces the research background,points out the significance of developing private banking business in ConstructionBank LN Branch based on the discussion of the present development situation ofprivate banking business in domestic and foreign private banks. The second chapter isthe business development situation and service mode in domestic and foreign privatebanks, and the market opportunities of the construction bank in developing privatebanking business are elaborated. In the third chapter, the general overview of privatebank, briefly elaborates the definition, origin and characteristic of private bank. In thefourth chapter, the present private banking business development status of LN Branchof China Construction Bank is analyzed, the advantages and disadvantages ofdeveloping private banking business in LN Branch of China Construction Bank arelisted out, points out the gaps and problems in developing private banking business. Itis the focal points of this paper. In order to efficiently accelerate the development ofprivate banking business in LN Branch of China Construction Bank, it mainlyproposes the countermeasure research on developing private banking business in LNBranch of China Construction Bank, puts forward the relevant countermeasures andsuggestions from the allocation of human resources, core capacity construction,mechanism construction, job responsibilities, brand building and so on.My own suggestions on private banking business in LN Branch of ChinaConstruction Bank are put forward in this paper. To a certain extent, it has greatsignificance in the development in the field of private banking business in theConstruction Bank.
