The Research Of The Inventory Management In HL Company

After the finance crisis of2008Y sourcing from Wall Street, debt crisis of Europe occurin many developed countries, and make market competition become more and more fierce,nowadays enterprises focus higher and higher on the cost down and high service level tocustomers. In fact, lot of enterprises are puzzled about the disjointed relationship betweenthe sales and manufacture. Especially for those enterprises with complex stock keeping units,formulations and small batches products, they always face the over stock and scrap as wellas the frequent stock out, over time working, inefficient production and complaints fromcustomers. Along with the development of the modern industry and the subdivision strategyof marketing, the demand from customers become more and more diversification andindividuation. In this case, there will have more challenge on the management of sales,production and inventory, inventory include the finished goods, WIP(work in process) andmaterials (raw materials and packaging materials). So, to ensure the no interrupt supply tocustomers with low inventory and high service level, we need improve the materialsplanning and inventory control to allocate the materials on production, to utilize theproduction resources efficiently, to arrange the reasonable production plan and purchasingplan.This paper is composed of six sections. The first part has some simple introduction onthe current situation of material planning and inventory control. Furthermore, it points outthe meaning, methodology, contents and structure of the study on material planning andinventory control. The second part touches the topics of theory, including materialsplanning, inventory control and the two theory under the supply chain management. Thethird part is about the development and current status of the material planning and inventorycontrol of HCI company. In chapter four, we introduced the whole procedure of materialplanning and inventory control in HCI company, as well as the strategies, method and somesignificant element based on the practice of HCI company. The fifth part, some keyperformance indicator is introduced. And the last part is the summary and expectations forthis paper.
