As energy resources reduced and energy brings pollution problems, energy security problems are coming. Among them, the energy shortage, resources fight and the environmental pollution and so on has become an urgent problem to be solved. This paper based on the provincial panel of the central region residents energy consumption analysis of time and space difference, has certain theoretical meaning and social significance.Although foreign research relatively matures, culture, economy and the government characteristics in each region are not all the same, the guide strength and influence scope of residents’ energy consumption is not same. Therefore, a pervasive influence of the scheme must accord with the inhabitants of the regional characteristics of energy. This article, therefore, chooses the central area residents energy consumption as the research object, according to the characteristics of the residents of our regional define energy consumption, and analysis characteristics. Use of the existing literature determines the index, again according to index access to the China statistical yearbook ";"China’s energy statistics yearbook and statistical yearbook of the provinces are collected data. Then use time series analysis, correlation analysis and regression analysis, variance analysis, and so on for the collected data.Through the analysis of data in the central region residents get energy consumption significantly space and time. Per capita energy consumption has been increasing, but is lower than the national average. Energy consumption structure in central region is changing, a positive change under the direction of government. Coal difference is the most significant among the six provinces. This is relevant to the natural resources and environmental factors of six provinces. Second is the thermal difference. Because the central region have north-south difference, in the north has heating, and the southern area has not. The next significant difference is natural gas. For the sake of west-east gas, the time of natural gas into the provinces is in a sequence of difference, so there is a difference in the usage. Finally, the difference of oil consumption is significant, it also owe to local environmental factors. Influence factor by time differences of central residents energy consumption are many, involving demographic by gender, age, education level, social features of urbanization, the household size, employment levels, the economic characteristics of the consumer level, in GDP, and so on. The greatest impact on the residents’ energy consumption regional differences are local energy production environment and other and energy production of the natural environment and social environment. Like some of the other features, such as population characteristics, social characteristics, a small part of them can cause the difference of regional energy consumption, but the impact is not large, or is not the main reason. According to the study in analysis time and space differences of the central region residents’ consumption and the reasons for the differences, put forward suggestions and countermeasures. This paper concludes the limited, for example for the resident energy consumption of the medium level just from the analysis, through limitations to guide future study.
