Research On The Low-carbon Agricultural Development Of Chengdu Plain

Material wealth sprang up along with the advancement of science and technology, but awarded us a terrible price of environmental pollution simultaneously, wanton use of resources, aggravate consumption of energy, growing emissions of greenhouse gases, all caused a daunting challenge for the sustainable development of earth humanity. To deal with the problem, the low-carbon economy based on low energy consumption, low emission that have came into being, and gradually become a hot topic of global concern. Today, however, the perspective of low-carbon economy is mainly concentrated in the urban, industrial and other areas, the low-carbon economy development of the rural area and agriculture is not popular. Accordingly, the Chengdu Plain, for example, on the basis of a systematic analysis of low-carbon agriculture, examine the history of Chengdu Plain’s agricultural development, to reveal the evolution of its agricultural structure and carbon cycling characteristics. Based on the evaluation results, explore the models and paths of the low-carbon development.The paper includes six parts:The first part introduces the background and significance of the research, and put forward the ideas and methods. Reviewed the domestic and international research on low-carbon agricultural development and its modes, lay a basis for further study of the paper.The second part, focus on the theory of the low-carbon agricultural development, systematic analysis the successful cases of the domestic and international low-carbon development, provide theoretic support and experiences of the low-carbon agricultural development of Chengdu Plain.In the third part, based on the resources and environmental conditions of the regional development of agriculture, analyze the change of the agricultural production structure mode and its carbon cycling characteristics, the evolution of industrial structure of agriculture and the carbon cycling changes, to reveal the inherent relationship between the mechanism in eh regional development of agriculture production and the level of carbon emissions.In the fourth part, according to the agricultural land use types, agricultural technical level, agricultural forms of organization, sum up the basic features of Chengdu Plain’s agricultural development. Combined with the four aspects, including: production, economy, society and ecological environment. Build the index system of the agricultural low-carbon development, evaluate the index system, get the level of agricultural low-carbon development in Chengdu. In the fifth part, by analyzing the results to determine the trend of the development, on this basis, argues the paths of regional low carbon development of the agriculture, against the differences in the Chengdu Plain, like the internal geographic and environmental conditions, the land use patterns, etc. Design the agricultural low-carbon development models for selection.The last part includes the conclusions and outlook of the study.The studies have shown that, the level of the low-carbon agricultural development is uneven, it’s also belong to the high-carbon stage of agricultural development. The different natural conditions and different level of development of each region, determine their level of the agricultural low-carbon development. Each region should be adapted to local conditions, choose different agricultural low-carbon development model.
