With the era of "buyers market "coming, the concept of customer satisfaction as the center, should become the focus of management and the basic principles of product design in companies. According to the changing demand of consumer and market, we improve the design of existing products and enhance the level of customer satisfaction. Designers determine product redesign goals by above method, which is one of major approaches. In the design process, achieving truthful, reliable and comprehensive market information timely is still a problem. Due to the some limitations factors, like labor, cost and so on, the traditional questionnaire make survey among one part of the consumers who buy or use the product. Thus, the survey’s result cannot represent for the overwhelming majority users’perspective. In the internet age, more and more consumers tend to comment on the web after purchasing. These online reviews, also called evaluation, stand for their experience and feelings about the product. Online reviews contain the product’feedback, positive or negative, after sale on the market.In the huge number of consumer reviews, we can easily dig out comprehensive and real market response information. For the formulation of redesign scheme, the information has high reference value. Using mining technology, we obtain product evaluation from online reviews, and make the product redesign scheme according to the results.Through above analysis, we propose the industrial product redesign method based on mining of online reviews. The method takes the demand of market and consumer into account. It concludes four main steps:first, download the reviews of one kind product; second, mining the product attributes by using the Apriori algorithm based on association rule; third, fuzzy represent the evaluation words and use fuzzy method to calculate the evaluation value of the product attributes; finally, analyze the calculation results, get the improvement point of the product and the product redesign scheme.From the Pconline web site, we download all the product reviews about two kinds of mobile phones and store them in the database. Then we calculated the comprehensive evaluation of the phone’attributes. The results of the analysis are consistent with the development situation of mobile phone industry, as well as applied technology. This proves the reasonableness of mining and fuzzy calculation method based on attributes.This paper combines fuzzy method with mining technology, as the new method of product redesign. Under internet environments, this paper enriches the research of product design field, and makes a contribution to the redesign method study. For practical research, this study can make companies aware of the market feedback, evaluation information of the product attributes. According to the results, companies formulate the product redesign scheme, which is reasonable, effective. The redesign scheme can improve the market competitiveness of products, ensure the efficiency of enterprises, promote the rapidly development of the enterprises.
