A Study On Sustainable Development Of Peach Industry In Shunping County

Shunping County is located in Hebei Province, the western foothill of the Taihang Mountain, is famous for all kinds of fruits, apple, peach, persimmon and assorted fruits. The peach industry is the pillar of Shunping, the county planted 14 mu areas, as a pillar industry of the county which has made great progress, but look at the developing process recently, there are many constraints during its sustainable development. In this essay, I describe Shunping characteristics and the peach growing regions with field survey research method, make semi-structured interviews on 293 farmers with stratified (by area type and acreage) random sampling method, and consider the farmers’agreements as starting point, use the Logistic model to discuss affecting factors whether the farmers will expand the peach production scale in the next few years, put forward the suggestions on the problems that exist in the the Shunping peach industry, promote the sustainable development and the results will have great significance to develop the strengths increase the income of local farmers.The results show that: the economic benefits of peach industry is higher than other local cash crops, and peach farmers need soil testing, fertilizer, pest control and the technology during spring period urgently. From a sale report, the mid-level sales market is large, transport is facility, it can promote the sales in the seven villages around it, can not play a leading role. There are many problems in planting, such as irrigation, field roads need to be hardened and so on, all these affect the economic benefits of farmers indirectly.Logistic model results show that: the farmers’ personal characteristics, household characteristics, production characteristics and age of farmers, the number of people engaged in peach production, the share of household income, technology, funds ,policy supporting and market building have a significant impact on whether farmers need to expand the scale of planting. Significance tests show that: the external environmental factors affect the farmers deeply, the rural household is in followed, and the smallest factor is the farmers’characteristics.Therefore, the government should take measures to optimize the external environment. Such as: stabilize the production price and give planting subsidies. Peach price is stability, farmers spend less, peach income account for large proportion of total household income, thus these policies will able to enhance the farmers’willingness; improve the local fruit-scale and harden the field road, dispel the concerns of the farmers, improve market management to ensure the efficient and operation of the market.Secondly, establish the farmers’ cooperative organizations by the, farmers and company. The university experts provide scientific and technical guidance, the company offer funds to organize the farmers, through signing the contract to establish the relationship between the enterprises and farmers. The enterprises provide minimum protective prices for farmers, meanwhile, hire the experts to supply technology to farmers during spring and autumn. To ensure the sales, pay attention to the brand strategy and improve the effectiveness of brand.
