The Study On The Evaluation Of Logistics Industry Competitiveness Of Shanxi Province

With the development of world economy and the progress of modern science andtechnology，Modern logistics industry is developing rapidly in global scope，as "the thirdprofit source", is considered as the artery of the national economy and fundamentalindustry，The level of which development has become the measure of a region or countrycomprehensive strength of one of the important signs. In recent years, the logistics industryin Shanxi province has been a rapid development, but still be in primary development phase.There are many problems. In addition the scholars of Shanxi province’s logistics industrycompetitiveness evaluation research is few, so the scientific and accurate evaluation of thelevel of competitiveness of logistics industry in Shanxi province, which appear verynecessary.This paper based on the logistics industry competitiveness of the relevant theory，Firsrt on the logistics and logistics industry concept，combined with the characteristics ofthe logistics industry and the logistics industry competitiveness，have given in the meaningof the logistics industry competitiveness. Secondly by analyzing the development status oflogistics industry in Shanxi province, the main problems and the impact factors of thelogistics industry competitive in Shanxi. According to certain principles constructing index,respectively from the overall size, infrastructure,pace of development, IT level, socialenvironment, natural resources, human resources and so on, corresponding to the selectedindex，Constructing a set of logistics industry competitiveness evaluation index system,establish the principal components analysis of the comprehensive evaluation model, collectdate，and through the Matlab mathematical software, on six central provinces 2006-2010years logistics industry competitiveness evaluation conducted empirical analysis. The empirical results show that the competitiveness of logistics industry of Shanxi is in themiddle in the six central provinces.Further, according to the evaluation results, respectively,from the time and space, to the Shanxi Province logistics industry competitiveness aretransverse and longitudinal comparison, find out the advantages and disadvantages of thedevelopment of logistics in Shanxi province. Finally, to propose a solution to thedevelopment of logistics industry in Shanxi province,in order to enhance the level ofcompetitiveness of the logistics industry, to ensure the sustainable development of modernlogistics in Shanxi province.
