Research On Service Industry Cluster Development Of Hangzhou

Recently,the proportion of service industry in the global economy are getting more and more high. In many developed countries the service industry has accounted for the primacy of national economic activity, service industry’s radiation and influence is increasing, and has become a important criterion to measure the level of modernization and overall strength of a country or area. Service cluster development is an important feature of the service industry, its status largely determines the level of development of the service industry itself.Hangzhou is an important central city of China’s eastern coast city group, it’s a famous international tourism city, with the unique conditions for the development of service industry.Recent years,the service industry of Hangzhou has developed quickly,and exceeded the secondary industry in 2009 for the first time, forming the "321" industry structure. Services sector of Hangzhou has become the largest industrial sector in the city, its development is of great significance for the socio-economic development of Hangzhou, while the lacking of ports, mining, government projects for the development of large-scale industrial further determine the strategic importance of the service industry for Hangzhou.As the significance of service industry to Hangzhou and the importance of service cluster development for service industry itself, this paper will select the situation of the service industry cluster development of Hangzhou as the research object, to grasp the law of the developing of Hangzhou’s service industry more deeply. Firstly, this paper collate and summarize the theories of service industry cluster developing at home and abroad,which constitute the theoretical basis of this paper.Secondly, from three main dimensions,including measuring Index of service industry cluster developing,the model of service industry cluster developing and the competitiveness of service industry cluster developing,this paper research the situation of Hangzhou’s service industry cluster development.The measuring index of service industry cluster developing consists of quotient of location,space Gini coefficient and the Herfindahl Index, this part of the study shows that the service industry of Hangzhou during the past 20 years has a certain agglomeration degree of specialization, and experienced a rise-fall-rise in three stages, this part also shows that producer services of Hangzhou have a higher degree of agglomeration than consumer services. Hangzhou has a certain degree of spatial concentration of services in the city’s geographical scope,showing an upward trend in recent years.by region, Hangzhou’s service industry is more concentrated in the main city, while in the main city more concentrated in the West Lake region of Central.The service industry of Hangzhou has a certain gathering degree between different industries,but its extent and the upward trend is not as good as Shanghai and Suzhou,which indicates that the position of dominant service industries of Hangzhou is not significant enough.The research about the service industry cluster model of Hangzhou shows that embedded service industry cluster model of Hangzhou accounted for the most, which indicates that the government of Hangzhou has played a leading role in the formation process of the service industry cluster area. The research about the competitiveness of service industries cluster developing shows that the service industry of Hangzhou has strong strength in the various elements of the GEM model. Finally, this paper does an empirical test about the cluster effect of service industry of Hangzhou. and relevant policy recommendations are given on the basis of the full-text research.
