Karst area occupies entire county gross area 86.81%, the forest coverage rate is low, forest land protection be imperative, this year, through closing hillsides to facilitate afforestation, returning farmland to forest and natural forest protection project, forest land area increased year by year, the county forestry development is rapid, be effective in improving the ecological environment. With the rapid growth of population, the development of social economy and urban and rural construction process accelerates, the land demand increased, especially to take up forest land quantity is enlarged, therefore, making plans for the county forest land protection and utilization is of great significance in the development of economy, requires us to find effective measures to protect forest land, it is in this context, development of forest protection and utilization planning of Youyang County.Study shows:(1)The proportion of forest land area:Youyang county land area of 517320 hectares, the forest area is 297453.7 hectares, among them:forest area is 123492.5 hectares, accounting for41.52% of land area, the forest coverage rate of 23.87%, sparse forest:area 3238.9 hectare, occupy land area:1.09%; shrub land area of 118922.4 hectares, accounting for forest land area39.98%; not stumpage forest:area 10994.4 hectare, occupy land area:3.69%; nursery area of 5.3 hectares; Wasteland:area of 40800.2 hectares, accounting for13.72% of land area.(2)The forest around the composition and proportion:the county forest area of 123492.5 hectares, accounting for41.52% of land area.
