Nowadays, the concrete is one of the most and widely used construction material, and is consumed about 9 billion tons per year. The concrete used by the construction project is usually supplied by the Ready-Mixed Concrete plant. The development of Ready-Mixed Concrete is a symbol of industrialization of construction. So comprehensively using the Ready-mixed concrete is the tendency the whole world. For a RMC plant, the costs related to operating RMC trucks could be more critical to its revenues. Because of the special characteristic of Ready-Mixed Concrete, especially its strict time constraints, the dispatching of RMC vehicle is a very difficult problem. Right now, the whole industry commonly distributes the Ready-Mixed concrete with the experience of the dispatcher. So, we often found that when some sites were waiting for the truck, many Ready-Mixed concrete trucks were queuing for unloading in other sites. It not only influences the quality of the construction project and lower the contractor’s profit, but also reduced the productivity of the factory. This paper sets up a dispatching model for maximizing the profit of RMC plant considering the characteristic of Ready-Mixed Concrete distribution and the factors that influence the distribution. The key issue lies in minimizing the costs caused by the trucks’ waiting time on the construction sites and the construction sites’ waiting time for trucks. This paper solves the model with the Genetic Algorithm and we can get a series of distribution schemes with different target values. These schemes involve following information:the departure sequences of the RMC trucks; when the RMC trucks to leave and minimizing the both waiting time. So we can solve out the minimum penalty cost from the minimum waiting time. According to the actual situation, the decision maker can choose the suited distribution scheme. Analyzing the results of the dispatching plan, the decision-makers can make the decision that lease some the vehicles in order to take full advantage of the resources and maximize of corporate profits when the trucks are adequate. The model built in this thesis can improve the profitability of the RMC plant and the quality of the construction project; get a win-win situation.
