Rail fuel supply plays an important role in the railway transport, and the efficient and economic organization of the railway fuel supply, good diesel locomotive fuel supply management, is very significant to ensure the railway transport safety, punctuality, good service, transportation and production costs reduced, and it also improves the economic efficiency. This study comes from the reality of China’s rail fuel supply, and based on the operation of the railway fuel supply business processes and business model. This paper combines analysis of these two costs of inventory and transportation in the supply system, and use the method of Inventory-Transportation Integrated Optimization to get to the optimization goal that the total costs are minimized.Firstly, the paper analyses the rail fuel supply system status, and then establishes the rail fuel Inventory-Transportation Integrated Optimization model based on VMI, using to solving the problem of Inventory-Transportation Integrated Optimization that the demand is certain.Secondly, the paper uses iterative genetic algorithm to solve the model:using the EOQ method for solving the initial optimal order quantity, then plugging this order into the cost of transportation part making use of genetic algorithms to calculate the transportation costs, at last plugging the transportation costs back into the optimization model in order to get the optimal order quantity. In this paper, the iterative algorithm and the average iterative algorithm is used for the double protection of the optimal order quantity in order to obtain the final optimal order quantity, total cost and transport path.Finally, the paper develops a computing program, with which combined with the specific example data to verify the correctness and feasibility. The model achieved the purpose of Inventory-Transportation Integrated Optimization by running the computing program to find the order quantity, ordering times, transport routes, and the minimum of the system cost.
