| Remanufacturing is an advanced form of circular economy, and Chinese government has promulgated a series of policies and regulations and started a pilot on remanufacturing industry in both automobile spare parts and machinery tools to support this industry. However, Chinese consumers’knowledge of remanufactured products is not high, so the consumption of remanufactured products is small, which has become an obstacle of Chinese remanufacturing industry. Although remanufacturing is generally a well-researched area, so far no literatures on purchase intention about remanufactured products have been found. Among few empirical research studies addressed the topic of perception of remanufactured products from consumers, no experimental studies have been found to examine the influence of product knowledge on purchase intention of remanufactured products. This study attempts to examine how the product knowledge affects the purchase intention of Chinese customers.Chinese consumers’conceptual model of purchase intention of remanufactured products is proposed based on the theory of perceived value and perceived risk. The paper included three cues:cost knowledge, environmental knowledge and quality knowledge on remanufactured products and we use2X2X2between subjects design. We choose remanufactured auto engine to be the experiment object and randomly select on campus students of Beijing Jiaotong University as the samples. Then we use SPSS to do the statistical analysis, to verify the hypothesis and amend the conceptual model and determine the final purchase intention model of Chinese remanufactured products. The results showed:cost knowledge, environmental knowledge and quality knowledge on remanufactured products have significant impact on consumers’ perceived value. Quality knowledge has significant impact on consumers’perceived risk. Perceived value has positive impact on purchase intension, and perceived risk has negative impact on it. Impact of product knowledge on purchase intention is going through perceived value and perceived risk. Based on the empirical results, the paper further analysis the theoretical and practical significance, and propose how to enhance consumers’purchase intention of remanufactured products. |
