Studies On The Rong’s Enterprise After The War Of Anti-Japanese(1945-1949)

The national capitalism of China was born relatively late, and the condition for its birth and development was very terrible. The Rong’s Enterprise, which was established by the brothers of Rong Desheng and Rong Zongjing at the end of19th century, became King of cotton yarn and flour magnate after the difficult starting and the boomlet around the time of the First World War. It was the noontide of the family business that Japanese launched the invasion of China. The national industry, which was born weakly, underwent one disaster after another when the full scale anti-Japanese war was broken. Some of them were laid to ruins by warfare, or grabbed by the Japanese troops and governed by the Japanese government. The Rong’s Enterprise was one of the enterprises, which followed the National Government to the regions behind the enemy lines, and continuing to producing.At the victory of the eight-year anti-Japanese war in1945, Japan unconditionally surrendered and completely withdraw from China. What did the enterprise do at that moment? Of course,the leaders of the business wanted to resume the production, and even to enlarge the production scale to profit maximization. Well did the company develop as they wanted to and what did they do for achieving the goals? The leaders took back their enterprise from Japan as quickly as they could and made the company come into operation in short time after the war. The enterprise grasped the psychological moment of the development in cotton textile industry and gained the huge profits.However, the family business was suffered by its interior impact. The difference of philosophy and the scramble for the power in leadership made the conglomerate divided. It also influenced the competitive power of the enterprise.As the relationship between K.M.T and C.C.P. become worsen and the broken of the civil war, the company was affected on the product marketing and raw material supply. The worker’s movement also impeded the development.The national government mired in war, the military expenses was enormous. The policy made by government made the national capitalism more difficult. The Rong’s enterprise was also suffered more. At last the family business gradually declined under the influence of the internal and external factors.This dissertation includes five chapters except for the introduction and conclusion. The preface points the significance of this article, and reviews the domestic and overseas research points of views, later brings forward the methods. The first chapter introduces the refulgence of the enterprise. The second chapter details the internal inconsistency and the restructuring of the company. The third chapter demonstrates the capital of the company, by the founding of the business expansion, the education and scientific research as well as bribe and donation. The forth chapter analyzes the impact to the company of the civil war. The fifth chapter discusses the influence on the business by policy from the National Government.
