It Factory Facility Layout Based On SLP Method

Under the huge pressure of the global competition, IT factories should take into consideration primarily at the initial stage of layout planning, such as cost, scalability, and flexibility etc. During manufacturing and delivery of supply chain, reasonable facility planning from the whole view can redounds to customers’satisfaction.The author researches Emerson (Mianyang) factory and anatomizes its products, quantity, routing, service sectors, and logistics in details. Due to the factory’s multi-storey structure design, and based on the essential features such as P, Q, R, S, T and area available, the author allotted the operation units according to floor, and then to calculate necessary area for each operation unit. In the correlation analysis of operation units, logistic path analysis, from-to sheet, job relativity diagram and other analysis methods and tools have been applied to analyze the complex relationship between the operation units from logistics and non-logistics aspects. After comprehensive analysis, we can obtain the integrated relativity results from the operation units. Based on the synthetic of operation units, the author researches the original layout mode through drawing and illustrates the relationship of operation units’position and its area. Applying the facilities planning design principles and considering the practical restrictions, therefore, two facilities planning layout schemes have been obtained. During the process of final scheme evaluation and selection, the author compared the two layout scheme by using quantitative method from both area devoting situation and logistics cost. Then evaluate the two schemes available synthetically by using weighted factors comparison method based on the said results researched. And eventually the best scheme of layout design for Emerson (Mianyang) factory was selected.The methods mentioned of the facilities layout design based on SLP method in the essay must be a guidance or reference to the similar manufacturers in IT field.
