With the development of the national economy and the improvement of people’s living standard, in gross of the passenger travel demand in our country increases ceaselessly, also its structure has changed, the market share of air transport, highways transportation and other transport way is increasing, the travel choice mode of is also increasing.and then, the situation of railway transportation become very grim. In order to gain more market share, railway transport has taken continuously speeding, constructing new line, increased train density and other ways to cope with the market competition, and the marketing strategy has not taken great change, the problem in current marketing model solves urgently.The article first introduces the basic theory of revenue management, and then discusses the revenue management system structure and application characteristics. By the summarizes of revenue management in the typical industry application experience, and combined with the characteristics of China’s Passenger Dedicated Line, analyze the functional and system of passenger dedicated line revenue management system. At last give the way to implement revenue management specific steps on China’s railway passenger line.The research on Application of revenue management in railway transport industry is based on the research and reviews of basic theory. Analyze the adaptability of the application of revenue management in passenger dedicated line from the different points. The most important point of this paper is establishing the passenger seat inventory and price joint decision model which based on the using the theory of revenue management at a competitive environment.By means of setting up the different ticket price and seat inventory, this model can effectively regulate the matching between the market demand and supply capacity. Numerical examples in this paper verify the joint decision model is not only feasible, but also advantageous to raising the economic benefits of passenger dedicated line.
