| Corporate social responsibility is the product of social movements, along with the gradual development of corporate social responsibility in China, the concept has aroused great concern by government, society and academic circles. Especially in recent years, many events of lack of corporate social responsibility appeared which pushed the corporate social responsibility to the topic of conversation). From the current situation of corporate performance of social responsibility in China, many problems exist. And as for the reasons, corporate shall be responsible for its action&performance, but also as the important stakeholder, the government cannot shirk its responsibility. Therefore, the research on that government should play what a role and how to play the role provides reference for the development of corporate social responsibility in China.Through the collation of domestic and foreign documents relative with corporate social responsibility and government’s role etc., the paper firstly explains the concept and relative theories of corporate social responsibility, describes the advanced practice of foreign governments and the positive development and existing problems for the corporate social responsibility in China and government’s role at present. Through the analysis for two typical examples for lack of social responsibility to find out the reason why government’s role appears problem, it provides the basis for analysis of government’s role and lays a solid foundation for further problems solution.The paper believes that whether the government can play a role is the key whether the sound progress of corporate social responsibility can be realized or not. Under the premise of the particular circumstances in China, by reference to the mode and methods to promotion of social responsibility by governments of western developed countries, to analyze the role of our government in corporate social responsibility, and offer the suggestion that how to improve and perfect its role. |
