Forestry occupies an important position in Fujian, and the forestry plays animportant part in regional economical development of Fujian. This study (based onperspective of forestry) analyzes the particular industry sources of economic growthin specific area. Total factor productivity is an significant tool of economic growthsource analyzing, and forestry total factor productivity is an important tool of theforestry economic growth source analyzing. At the same time, forestry total factorproductivity is the decisive factor to peasant’s income. The contribution of theprogress of science and technology, the scale of operation efficiency, the puretechnical efficiency to total factor productivity and the influence factors of forestrytotal factor productivity are very important to development of modern forestry inFujian province and the evaluation of the collective forestry right system reformation. The text make famers as Decision Making Units (DMU), and adoptsDEA-Malmquist to analysis empirically forestry total factor productivity and theinfluence factors. The main content of this article is as follows:Chapter Ⅰ expounds the background and significance, summary research statusat home and abroad about forestry total factor productivity, and shows the researchmethod about this text, and renders technology roadmap, at the same time, summarizes the innovation of this study.Chapter Ⅱ shows out the theory about the total factor productivity, technologyprogress and technical efficiency, and defines the total factor productivity, technologyprogress and technical efficiency.Chapter Ⅲ explains the selected methods,s elected samples and processed data, and comprehensively applicates DEA model and Malmquist index method to analyzedata from the survey. At the same time, Chapter Ⅲ estimates the variance of forestrytotal factor productivity since the reform of the forest right system, and then analysethe variance of forestry total factor productivity. Based on this analysis, the varianceof forestry total factor productivity present four kinds of characteristics: Firstlly, forestry total factor productivity is from technical efficiency. Secondly, forestrytechnology efficiency is from pure technical efficiency. Tirdly, forestry total factorproductivity present volatility. Fourthly, forestry total factor productivity didn’t present balanced growth between farmer.Chapter Ⅳ anlyses the influence factors of forestry total factor productivity. Thissection is divided into two parts. The first part anlyse the influence factorstheoretically, pointing out there are six influence factors, as manpower, money, forestland, system, management and market. Based on this, the text construct total factorproductivity factors index system. The second part adopt DEA-Tobit to analyzingempirically influence factors of forestry total factor productivity, technical progress, technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. From the results ofanalysis, the influence factors of forestry total factor productivity are the qualit ofseedlings, the number of forest land, the way of soil preparation and the types ofcultivation. The influence factors of technology progress are the frequency offertilization, forestry subsidies, the number of forest land, master’s educational level, mater’s age, and the distance between forestry land and road. The influence factors oftechnical efficiency are the qualit of seedlings, the slope of woodland, the way of soilpreparation, the types of cultivation, and the number of forest land. The influencefactors of pure technical efficiency are the qualit of seedlings, the slope ofwoodland, the way of soil preparation, the types of cultivation, the number of forestland. The influence factors of scale efficiency are the qualit of seedlings, the frequencyof fertilization, the slope of woodland, the funding sources, system of cutting quota, the types of cultivation, the number of forest land, master’s educational level andmater’s age.Chapter Ⅴ is based on the analysis about variance of forestry total factorproductivity and influence factors of forestry total factor productivity. The studydraws the conclusion that the conclusion of the study:firstly, each component of forestrytotal factor productivity does not form a cohesive force; secondly, there are manydifferences between farmers;thirdly, the main influence factor of forestry productiveforces is management. And then this paper puts forward to enhance Fujian forestrytotal factor productivity policy:firstly, speeding up the promotion of forestry scienceand technology and improve forestry productive forces; secondly guiding moderatescale operation and achieve the scale economy; thirdly, strengthening cooperationorganization construction and improve forest competitiveness.
