A Regional Policy Research Based On The Coordination Degree Of Regional Disparities And Economy Growth

Since the Chinese reform and opening-up, people pay more attention to the disparities of economic development among east, west and central provinces with the rapid development of overall economy. This article, firstly, calculates indices which measure the regional economic disparities in31provinces and municipalities, then secondly, it carries out a study on the relationship between the regional economic disparities and economy growth. The last but not the least, the paper, using the coupling coordination degree of regional disparities and economy growth as its index, conducts an extensive research into the timing choice of regional policy and effect of those policies on the basis of regional policy in1978-2009.This article contains6chapters:Chapter2expounds the research background and theoretical basis, specifically, it contains three stages of regional economy development in1978-2009and the theoretical basis of research on regional economic disparities.Chapter3chooses four indices which contain Gini coefficient, Selma index, mutation index and Wolffs polarization index for measuring regional economic disparities and interpret the calculation and application scope of these indices. Then, it calculates and analyzes the results in31provinces and municipalities with those GDP in1978-2009as sample data.Chapter4draws a conclusion by Granger causality testing of regional economic disparities and economy growth among31provinces in China that there is a long-term equilibrium relationship between regional economic disparities and economy growth but not a causality relationship, then makes a verification of this long-term equilibrium relationship which indicates that there is sometimes an positive correlation between them, then negative, so the paper plots the correlation curve in different stage.Chapter5sets up the regional disparities and economy growth as a whole system and establishes an index system. It calculates the weight by entropy method and comprehensive order parameter of regional disparities and economy growth by using sample data in31provinces and municipalities of our country. At last, by putting the results above into the coupling coordination model, we can obtained the final time sequence of the coupling coordination degree between regional disparities and economy growth.Chapter6reviews the regional policy of China in1978-2009and chooses ten of them which have a strong influence, then undertakes a research by putting these policies into the final time sequence above. According to the trend of the coupling coordination degree and the economic background of regional policy, this study analyzes the timing choice and final effect of the implementation of regional policy and draws a final conclusion.
