Marx’s Monetary Theory And Its Contemporary Values

Occupying an important position in Marxist political economics system, Marx’sMonetary Theory is not only a vital part of the scientific theory of labor value but also theimportant theoretical basis of the theory of surplus value. Studying Marx’s MonetaryTheory has very important real sense for adhering to the guiding ideology of the Marx’sdoctrine, consciously resisting the negative effects of the western bourgeois economics,effectively responding to the international financial crisis on China’s economicdevelopment impact, strengthening and improving macro-control, the development ofelectronic currency, virtual currency and other new forms of money and promoting soundand rapid development of national economy.This paper, besides the introduction and conclusion, is divided into five chapters.The first chapter, about the main theory source of Marx’s Monetary Theory. The third chapter isabout Marx’s monetary theory’s basic contents. It gives a comprehensive explanation ofthe basic content of the Marx’s Monetary Theory: the origin of currency, currency, thefunctions of money, the laws of money, the development of money and discussed theintrinsic connection between the five aspects. The fourth chapter is about the basiccharacteristics of Marx’s Monetary Theory; it gives a concrete analysis of the basiccharacteristics of Marx’s theory of money, namely, scientific, revolutionary, and systemic,and emphasized that scientific is the essential characteristics of Marx’s Monetary Theory.The fifth chapter is about Marx’s Monetary Theory and its contemporary value. On thetheoretical value, Marx’s theory of money is not only a sharp ideological weapon tocriticize modern western bourgeois theory of money, but also a scientific theory basis tobuild socialism with Chinese characteristics of monetary theory system; As for practicalvalue, Marx’s theory of money is the important magic weapon for our response to theimpact of the international financial crisis but also points out the correct direction forhealth development of China’s electronic currency and virtual currency.The innovation of this paper lies in: Firstly, it preliminarily formed the interpretationsystem of Marx’s theory of money; secondly, it more specifically described thecontemporary value of Marx theory of money.
