Product quality runs through the whole product life cycle and it is the foundation for the enterprises to participate in market competition, survive and develop while the product quality during manufacturing process is the cornerstone of final product quality. As global market competition intensifies and acceleration of the process of manufacturing information, Enterprises put forward higher requirements for quality information management and product quality traceability in the manufacturing process.As an important resource of the enterprise, quality information is one of the keys to do a good job in business. Quality information management, including access to quality information, collate, transfer, summary statistics, analysis, feedback, use and many other aspects, is an important basis to improve product performance, meet the needs of the users applicability and improve the quality of products. Product quality traceability, which is the requirements of the ISO9000quality assurance system, improves the efficiency of the analysis of the root causes of product quality defects with quality trace. MES (manufacturing execution system, referred to as MES) is a real-time information system of workshop manufacturing process management-oriented and it has all the static and dynamic data of the manufacturing process. On the basis of previous research on the quality of information management activities, quality information management and quality traceability system based on the MES are studied. The main study is as follows:(1) Described the development of the MES at home and abroad, development process and development trend of quality information management system and the modern enterprise quality trace. It discussed the significance to establish the manufacturing execution systems for discrete manufacturing workshop which based on the quality of the manufacturing process information management systems;(2) The definition of the MES, background, positioning and functions in computer integrated manufacturing are described. It discusses the important role and significance for enterprise to establish and implement the quality information management system. Based on the MES, quality information management system frame structure is built and proposed the application of control charts in quality information management system for real-time quality control workshop production. Combined with the actual situation and the modern information collection technology, collection methods of the system data are analyzed;(3) Quality information is divided into management and technique after analysis of the typical forming process of product quality during manufacturing stage of the discrete manufacturing which includes procurement, processing and assembly. It also studied the structure of quality information management system based on MES functions with detailed descriptions of each functional module. Finally, the IDEF0system architecture modeling and IDEF1X data modeling methods are introduced and the data model of the system structure model and each module using these two methods are designed;(4) The thesis states the importance of the implementation of quality reviewing for discrete manufacturing enterprises and traceability of the manufacturing stage. The necessity and feasibility of integrating quality tracing in the quality information management system is also stated. The traceable objects in manufacturing stage and the batch bill tracing method is analyzed and studied. The quality tracing data model is established by using IDEF1X modeling method.The analyze process is finally studied and a sample of bearing plant is proposed to discuss the batch tracing method.
