From1990s, knowledge-based economy first appeared in the United States.Following in time, the world economy transformed from an industrial economy erainto the era of knowledge economy. Since then, intellectual property rights has playedan increasingly important role in the global economy and international trade. Underthe framework of the WTO, intellectual property rights were included in the issues oftrade negotiations during1986and1994Uruguay Round negotiations. Intellectualproperty trade becomes one of the three pillars of international trade with merchandisetrade and commercial trade. Last decade exports of international intellectual propertytrade nearly tripled, and had an average annual growth rate of12%. With the rapiddevelopment of the world intellectual property trade, China’s intellectual propertytrade in the past10years made great progress. Average annual growth rate ofintellectual property trade exports is much higher than the trade in goods and servicestrade. Under the background of the deepening of economic globalization and moreand more attention paid to intellectual property rights, it is theoretically valuable andpractically significant to study the international competitiveness of China’s intellectualproperty trade, Influencing factors, problems and solutions.There are lots of research on the role of intellectual property rights andintellectual property protection from the economic point of view. But there are fewpapers about international competitiveness of intellectual property rights of trade. Andthere are fewer Empirical research on the influencing factors of internationalcompetitiveness of intellectual property trade. Besides, countermeasures to improvethe international competitiveness of China’s intellectual property trade are not enoughsystematic. This paper uses a combination of theoretical and empirical researchmethods. Based on the TC index, RCA index, STO index, this paper Quantitativelycompared international competitiveness of intellectual property trade of China andother countries. With econometrics Eviews5.0soft regression model, it conducts an empirical analysis of influencing factors on the trade competitiveness of China’sintellectual property rights. It is concluded that trade competitiveness of China’sintellectual property is influenced by Foreign direct investment, human capital, R&Dinvestment and the degree of protection of intellectual property rights. Then, withMichael Porter’s diamond model, it analyses the existing problems of China’sintellectual property trade from aspects of production factors, demand conditions,related and supporting industries, corporate strategy, structure and competition andgovernment. Finally this paper proposes corresponding countermeasures andmeasures.The main innovation lies in the use of the latest data to analyze the internationalcompetitiveness of China’s intellectual property trade. And with econometricsEviews5.0soft regression model, it conducts an empirical analysis of influencingfactors on the trade competitiveness of China’s intellectual property rights. And itanalyses the existing problems and proposes corresponding countermeasures.
