As customer’s ways to consume differ, profound changes are taking place to the business environment of modern retail enterprises in recent years. Global competition gets increasingly fierce and comprehensive; Customers’needs are gradually characterized with diversity and personality; New forms of retailing develop quickly while e-commerce tops others. Faced with tough challenges, traditional retail enterprises are discovering the traditional pyramid model of management fails to meet the development. In order to adapt to the business environment characterized by quick changes, strong competition and diversified customers’ needs, the traditional retail enterprises, which are labor-intensive, are in immediate need of a thorough research and dedicate analysis on present business process with the help of advanced information technology. Therefore an entirely new structure of management focused on process is proposed to be constructed, in which working efficiency per person is expected be increased, cost of labor resources reduced, and the efficiency and quality of human resources improved. A competitive advantage is expected to win and way is to be paved for the company to realize its strategic goals.AH company is a listed retail company controlled by the state, occupying a business area of more than100,000square meters and engaging in more than120,000items. Its business scope covers department stores, home appliances, e-commerce and vehicle sales. Having developed quickly in the last two years, the company reached a peak sale of2.6billion RMB in2011. Growing size and extending management, however, brings conflict between business process and structure of management which turns out to be a main obstacle to the continuously rapid development of the company. By studying the business process and structure of management in AH company, this paper explores new basic theories, strategies and procedures of reconstructing structure of management based on innovation in business process of modern retail enterprises. It helps to improve efficiency and quality of managing human resources and provides reference for decision-making when strategic goals of the companies are sought to achieve. The research applies the method of Documentation Research and Specific Case Study. To begin with, this paper introduces the background and significance of the research as well as new relative theories of business process and reconstruction of management. By surveying the present situation of business process and structure of management of AH company, the main emphasis is placed on the analysis with the method of SWOT. Based on the research and extended analysis, conclusions are drawn after surveying AH’s policies, policy implementation and assessment.
