| The dissertation is researching on the implement of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) for the Guangxi Power Grid Corporation. The research of the dissertation plays an important role in the evaluation and implementation of VMI program for the corporation both theoretically and practically.Under the pressure of modern economy, the competition has advanced from between companies to Supply Chains. In order to reduce the costs of Supply Chains and to improve the benefits of Supply Chains, one kind of Supply Chain Management mode-VMI which is based on the close cooperation of enterprises of Supply Chains has flourished. From theory to practice VMI has been proven efficient fully through twenty years of study and application, which makes VMI develop rapidly. Applying the VMI mode which has been proven effective by practice to Guangxi Power Grid Corporation would surely have many advantages, such as improving inventory management, reducing supply chains costs, relieving overstock, increasing turnover rates, and finally get profits from the logistics management.At first the dissertation elaborates on the background and meaning of the research, and then reviews the VMI research both overseas and domestic based on Supply Chain Management. It states the origin, progress, characteristics and practice theory of VMI on the basis of introducing the Supply Chains Management theory and the Inventory Management theory briefly. After that, it analyzes the necessity and feasibility on conditions of the Guangxi Power Grid Corporation and finally draws the conclusion that VMI is feasible in the Guangxi Power Grid Corporation. In the implementation section, it sets the objects and principles for the VMI implementation, plans the storage pattern, designs the realization mode and ordering process, defines the assessment methods and risk control mechanism. After the implement theory, the dissertation analyzes the implementation progress thoroughly. It includes the steps:to build the internal organizational structure, to develop the implementation plan, to set the storage quota, to select the vendors, to sign the VMI contract, to form the implementation team, to develop the cooperation programs, to build the technology supporting platform, to restructure business processes, to train before implementation, to set up the distribution network, test run and formal run. After the thirteen steps, it discusses the difficulties and the solutions. At the end of the dissertation, it summarizes the whole essay and points out the deficiencies and the need to be studied in the direction. |
