The Research Of Chinese Customs Food Trade And The Development Of Regional Economic (1903-1919)

Natural economy in traditional Chinese society has been very important. After the opium war, with the forced to open port, China customs commodity trade gradually frequently, and foreign capitalism began to mass to China and capital goods output, and a lot of plundering Chinese agricultural raw materials which gave the Chinese traditional natural economy a great blow. From the point of view of food trade, China in a traditional society although has been an agricultural country, but import a lot of food from abroad in the period of1903-1919years, and food has become an important commodities in China’s import and export trade gradually. With the agricultural products kinds expand unceasingly, the food trade has also increased greatly. In addition, from food trade perspective, to give priority to the importation of rice, wheat exports to give priority to, and rice imports is far higher than wheat exports. Be unfavorable balance of trade, China also gradually began to degenerate into food importing countries. At the same time, we should also see that as a form of commercialization of agricultural products, food trade unceasing development of China will almost certainly be the development of regional economy and China’s modernization process produce far-reaching influence. In the regional distribution of rice import trade mainly concentrated in Fujian, Guangdong area and so on, and wheat export trade mainly concentrated in the northeast. So the development of food trade not only mitigated the conflicts of local grain supply and demand in ease, but also promoted the local economic development, and improved the commercialization of grain rate, strengthened the economic ties between urban and rural, urban and town and so on. The article took the China customs food import and export trade in1903-1919for masterstroke, visited to the China food import and export trade, the basic condition of food commodities, trade ports, and through the analysis on the local food import and export trade of regional economic influence. And pointed out that although its food import and export trade is the western capitalist country to a Chinese economic aggression, but we cannot deny that food trade really have certain simulative effects to modern China economic development.
