Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region isrelatively backward in the level of economic development, where SMEs arethroughout the region, the SMEs has accounted for more than99%of thetotal number of enterprises in15prefectures,85counties (cities).Urumqi, the capital city as the city center of the New Eurasian ContinentalBridge adjacent to the five Central Asian countries, with the heating upof continental economic belt and extensive cooperation within regions,the development of SMEs is really rapid, especially in manufacturingenterprises.Small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises occupy an importantposition in Urumqi, and play an irreplaceable role in the process ofeconomic development. Small and medium manufacturing enterprises have anabsolute advantage on the total number in Urumqi. Therefore, how toeffectively evaluate the operational performance of small andmedium-sized manufacturing enterprises has become a research focus. Atthe same time, due to the fact that small and medium-sized manufacturingenterprises have brought great wealth and interests to the state andsociety, a large number of economists and theoreticians have paid moreattention to the small and medium manufacturing enterprises in theirresearch work.Based on this background, the small and medium-sized manufacturingenterprises in Urumqi is made as the research object, on the basis of thestatus of its operations, this thesis will evaluate, analyze and summarize its existing operational performance.Learn from existing models and methods of evaluation for theperformance of business operations at home and abroad, combined with theunique characteristics of small and medium-sized manufacturingenterprises in Urumqi, we shall build a complete system, which are highlyapplicable to the operating performance evaluation system in the smalland medium-sized manufacturing enterprises, so that small andmedium-sized manufacturing enterprises can follow a more reliableregulation to achieve a healthy, stable and sustainable development inthe business management process.
