Arable land and agricultural labor force are two important elements in the human-land system. The coordination between the arable land and agricultural labor force refers to the relationship in which the two elements form a mutual adaption and promotion in certain natural conditions and on a certain socio-economic basis. It shall enable the agricultural labor force to meet the requirement of the regional agricultural development, and orderly migrate out to achieve large-scale operation,so that the human-land system will be in a sustainable development. In the context of ecological restoration, natural forest protection, expansion of land for construction and internal restructuring of agricultural land in Shaanxi province, the human-land relationship has changed greatly.Providing Shaanxi Province, this paper analyses the impact factors in different regions of the arable land and agricultural labor force changes, in order to provides differentiated policy, these can be reference resouces to deal with the issues of agricultural, countryside and farmers, as well as urban and rural construction; furthermore, with different type regions in Shaanxi Province, the research about the coordination of the arable land and agricultural labor relationship in different type regions, provides significant reference to the same region of the human-land relationship.According to the natural conditions, socio-economic conditions, land use differences in Shaanxi Province, base on the theory of human-land relationship, this paper selects the appropriate index system, combinates with the relevant divisions, divides Shaanxi Province into four parts about human-land relationshipNorthern Fragile Area, Northern Tense Area, Central Pressure Area and the Southern Sensitive Area. Paper analyzes the characteristics and interconnection between arable land and agricultural labor force in temporal and spatial during1997to2007. The conclusions are following:(1)the labor-farming relations in the Northern Fragile Area presents as the recession type and the inter difference has been caused by the economic structure; in the Northern Tense Area, it presents as the recession type as well and it is largely impacted by the agricultural structure; in the Central Pressure Area, it presents as the type of sustainable development and it mainly influenced by the regional urbanization and economic structure; in the Southern Sensitive Area, it presents as a transition from the recession type to the sustainable developing type, and the natural conditions of agricultural development and the regional economic impact are playing an very important role.(2)Northern Fragile Area should insist on agriculture and the ecotogy construction sustainable development, restore vegetation and limit carrying animal capacity, transform the low-yielding land to enhances the output, optimix the industrial structure, and improve the participatory for agricultural labor force in nature. Northern Tense Area should maintain the achievement of ecological restoration, the promote agriculture structure adjustment, the construct basic farmland, and enhances the grain degree of self-sufficiency further; and should transform the economic model depending on resources exploitation, rely on the rapid development of the second industry to promote the development of the third industry. In additton, Central Pressure Area should strengthen reclamation, sable agricultural land scale and protect basic farmland; and speed up the construction of small towns. Besides, the Southern Sensitive Area ought to continue to persist in ecological restoration policy, protect ecological forest, develop characteristic industry, extend the industrial chain to provide opportunity for transformation of agricultural labor force.
