With the development of the economic, warehouse planning and design is increasingly being taken seriously. A business has a good warehouse planning and design can greatly improve the ability of the inventory and reduce the employee amount of work, saving a lot of manpower and material resource. For the special nature of the industry, the power system supplies warehouse planning and design started later. In recently years, several power companies gradually recognized the importance and increase the funding for the warehouse building. In addition, the national "12th Five-Year" Plan required more attention for the storage of electric power industry.The main idea of this paper is design the warehouse of power industry, it research the way of storage to several special material (cable,composite insulators,CT),the types of materials are simple and traditional before being design, and the storage efficiency and space utilization were low, the stock can not meet the actual demand. To solve these issues, the paper makes a series of research as following:First of all, this paper introduces the present situation of the study about storage management system at home and abroad, and describes the present domestic electric power industry application storage system, then introduces the basic situation of the present the design of warehouse and the places that need to be improved.Secondly, the paper designs the flat project of the warehouse, these materials use ordinary shelf for storage,devising material-specific storage devices based on the special feature, and makes the engineering verification, finally makes the overall layout of several substance in the warehouse.Then, this paper designs the scheme in automation solutions based on contrast to the flat library, and then analyzes one of the goods as an example detailed, and improved the project through the algorithm, finally makes whole warehouse layout analysis to several material of the warehouse. Finally, this paper analyzed the two methods based on the investment estimation, stock, loading and unloading, and acquires the most suitable storage way according to the actual situation of the warehouse.
