With the development of computer technology, the inventory management ofiron and steel enterprise has accumulated a massive of business data in daily work.Digging out useful information from these business data is a very meaningful job. Its informationmodel is based on the roles and tasks, and has a complete pre-configured solution,Business Content can provide a pre-defined industry template. SAP BI can providereference for enterprises in the implementation process.To make a detailed analysis and research on SAP Company’s BI data warehousesystem, this article selects the inventory management as a starting point to build a datawarehouse system which is based on SAP BI, First, this article takes theory and caseanalysis for the establishment of the SAP BI system model and the specificapplication problems in the process of inventory management; it gives a solutionsuitable for current inventory management system’s operation; Secondly, makesanalysis to support decision analysis by applying OLAP in the different dimensions ofinventory management performance indicators; finally, summarizes problems youmight encounter in the process during the implementation of the data warehouseproject. The results show that this system applied into inventory management, canprovide a reliable decision-making basis for inventory control, which has a highpractice promote value in application and research of Business Intelligence for SAPInventory Management module.
