A Study On Joint Action In Marshallian Industry Cluster:the Case Of Piano Industry

In recent years, the study of industrial clusters is in full swing in China’s academia, and the research results carried out are very rich. However, it is observed that there are kinds of problems of industrial clusters in numerous regions in China. Existing literature on industrial clusters pay more attention to theory but less to practice. The fundamental reason that the practice of industrial clusters is far behind the cluster study is that a large number of research literature cannot be really used in practice. This paper attempts to reveal the real law of industry clusters and to explore how the laws work in industry clusters. In this paper, the method of literature review is used to review existing industry cluster literature, and the method of dissipative structure theory, system theory and the phenomenology are used in the following parts. Though the literature reviews it is found that the industrial cluster joint action is the real driving force of supporting industry clusters to continue to move forward. From a system perspective, this paper categorizes the stages of development of industrial clusters, and takes the Marshallian industrial clusters as the example to set the objectives of the joint action of the different periods of industrial clusters. With the guidance of the objectives, this paper further focuses on the research of the initiative for achieving the operational objectives of joint action in different stages of the industrial cluster. And then, this paper claims that the joint action works on the basis of different objectives in different stages of industrial cluster by initiative of actors in the industry clusters, and that it’s the joint action which promotes the development of the industry cluster. Finally, Luoshe piano industry cluster in Zhejiang is taken for example to help analyse how joint action works in practice.
