| Recent years, the scale of hotels expands rapidly and the number of hotels increases fastly, which directly aggravates the competition among hotels. As a labor-intensive industry, human resource is the crucial factor for a hotel to build its core competence. So human resource becomes into the key objects to contest, resulting in high staff turnover rate in the hotels. The hotels of Dolton Group are also troubled by the high turnover rate of service managers. Service managers are the keys for the hotels to provide qualitied services to customers but the high turnover rate of service managers seriously affects the normal operations of the hotels, reduces the hotel’s service quality, increases the operating costs, decreases the operating profits and affects the hotels to improve their core competence orderly. Probing the reasons for the turnover of service managers and proposing strategies to decrease the turnover rate of service managers effectively have great significances for the normal operation and constructing their core competence of the hotels of Dolton Group.Firstly, this paper conducts a systematic analysis of the existing research on employee turnover, introduces basic theories of staff turnover and summarizes main factors for staff turnover in detail; Secondly, the paper briefly describes the basic situation of the hotels of Dolton Group and its human resoure management, analyzes the status of the service manager turnover and analyzes its adverse effects to the hotels; Thirdly, the paper investigated service managers’job satisfaction and reasons for loss through questionnaire and interview, made systematic analysis of the survey results and obtained key reasons for the loss of service managers; Finally, against the main reasons for the loss of service managers, the paper proposes solutions to the loss of service managers for the hotels of Dolton Group from three aspects:reforming human resources management system, constructing excellent corporate cultures and establishing brain drain crisis management system. |
