With the economic globalization and the unceasing development of informationtechnology, competition environment our country enterprise faced has changed a lot.Facing the competition environment changes, many discrete manufacturingenterprises have tried to use the informatization to enhance their competitiveness, butthe result is a lot of enterprises have collapsed into the IT black hole, the main reasonof which is that the enterprise paid less attention to the improvement of businessprocess when they make informationization construction. For the enterprises, whichpay more attention to improve the production efficiency, material distribution is thebottleneck link of production management, and in urgent need of improvement.Beginning with discrete manufacturing industry’s material distribution status,this paper studies six sigma management and business process management,constructs a model of BPM based on6σ, and integrates the model and ERP system. Insome engineering machinery enterprise as an example, this paper improves itsmaterial delivery process, and realizes the material delivery process in the ERPsystem.The outcomes of this paper are as follows:(1) Research on current situation of material delivery of discrete manufacturingindustry. Discrete manufacturing industry has many problems: the management levelis low, the quality of material distribution personnel isn’t high, the informationtechnology is backward, and the logistics equipment is obsolete.(2) According to DMAIC of6σ management and business process managementlife cycle model, this paper embellished the model of BPM based on6σ for thematerial distribution of discrete manufacturing industry.(3) Application of the BPM model based on6σ. Through process modeling,diagnostics, optimization and controlling, CG Company has archived an excellentmaterial distribution. (4) Through the research on ERP and the model of BPM based on6σ. This paperputs forward an integration of ERP and the model of BPM based on6σ.(5) Taking CG Company as an example, this paper applies the integration of ERPand the model of BPM based on6σ to material distribution system in ERP, andevaluates its effect. The model has some promotion value for discrete manufacturingindustry.
